Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership

 Promoting responsible boating practices

This project, conducted in partnership with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries, N.C. Sea Grant, and UNC's Institute for the Environment, placed educational and visually appealing signs at 50 boat ramps throughout coastal North Carolina. In addition to educating boaters about the value of aquatic grasses (also known as submerged aquatic vegetation or SAV), it also provides boating tips to help protect this valuable resource. This project was funded by a N.C. Coastal Recreational Fishing License grant.
