Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Program - APNEP- Climate Ready Water Utilities

Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Program

Climate Ready Water Utilities

Overview

As part of its commitment to protect the Albemarle-Pamlico estuary from the long-term effects of climate change and sea level rise, APNEP is working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to support drinking water and wastewater utilities as they consider how to adapt to changing climate pressures.

EPA's Climate Ready Water Utilities (CRWU) initiative is designed to support water utilities as they consider various adaptation options.  Tools developed as a part of this initiative include the Climate Resilience Evaluation and Awareness Tool (CREAT), the Utility Climate Change Adaptation Measures Guide, and the CRWU Toolbox, among others.  For the full list of resources, please visit the CRWU website.  If you are a local government interested in applying these tools, please contact APNEP's community specialist to determine whether support is available.
